A brace by Jerry White and a goal by John Carroll was assisted by a brace by Joe Sales and an assist by Ben Miller. Jon Balfour (a) Matt Hennessey
Jon Balfour (a) Matt Hennessey

MCC played one of their best matches in their long and prestigious history today at Radnor HS. Playing the first 70 minutes of the match with only 10 men MCC managed not only to put up a strong defensive effort but also produced a devastating striking partnership with Matt and Jon. Matt and Jon scored two excellent first half goals with no answer from Allegro as the half drew to a close. Allegro came back strongly in the second half with intense pressure to draw level only to lose the lead to a superb free kick by Jon which turned out to be the winning goal. A special mention has to go out to our goalie Trent who was outstanding in nets and made important saves time and time again and was the final piece to our victory. An unbelievable effort from everyone in claret and blue today and a tremendous result to start the 2015 season. A big thanks also goes to Joe Lietner Jr. who put on the MCC colours for the remaining 20 minutes of the match to help MCC finish off the game with 11 players. No match next week as it is a bye week.

Cricket League Final
Allegro 4-0 MCC
HT (1-0)

MCC played a tough match today in which the score did not reflect the dominance we had for long spells in the final. The team played some of the best football they had all year and even hit the bar and had numerous shots saved by the Allegro goalkeeper who also had a great game. The score was only 1-0 at the half and the title was still in the balance but as MCC pushed up to get the equalizer Allegro managed to capitalize on a number of breakaways. MCC has had many positives this season and we look to build on that to bring home the trophy next year. Congratulations to Allegro and we look forward to the next event - The MCC pub crawl to close out the season.

Moorestown 2-2 MCC
(Played at MCC)
HT (1-0)
Richie Graham (a) Tim Munford
Richie Graham (PEN) (a) Barry Smith

MCC ended the regular season in dramatic style with Richie Graham scoring a penalty with only 2 minutes left in the match to put MCC into the 2014 Cricket League Final. This came after some great work by Barry Smith to get into the box where he was brought down by a Moorestown defender for the winning penalty. Richie also scored the first goal with an assist by Tim Mumford which gave MCC a 1-0 lead at the break. Moorestown then fought back and took the lead with only 5 minutes left in the match. MCC never gave up and fought back to win the penalty in the dying minutes of the match and set up an exciting final with Allegro this Sunday at Radnor High School.

Billydee Scantlebury (PEN) (a) Unassisted
Billydee Scantlebury (PEN) (a) Unassisted
Richie Graham (a) Tim Mumford

MCC had a great end to the regular season with a convincing win over Germantown Friends. Both Billy and Richie got a brace of goals while Jerry was welcomed back after injury with a brace of assists. Aaron got the other goal and Tim rounded it off for the last assist. We now want to take this momentum into the playoffs next week and should know who our opponent is in the next couple of days.

MCC 2-5 Moorestown
HT (0-0)
Brent Peters (a) Jon Balfour
Jon Balfour (a) Unassisted

With a depleted squad MCC bravely hosted Moorestown on Sunday. Unfortunately we could not pull off the win but look good to place well in the playoffs. Jon got both a goal and an assist and Brent got the other goal for MCC. We have a bye this coming Sunday and will be back the following Sunday with a home match against Germantown Friends to end the regular season.

MCC 1-3 Allegro
HT(0-0)

Dario Gavato (a) Jeritt Thayer

A tough loss in a hard fought match against Allegro. We had numerous chances to score and even hit the bar when it was 0-0 in the first half but luck was not on our side. Dario scored our goal with an assist from Jeritt. We look to get back to winning ways when we host Moorestown next Sunday.

MCC 7-0 Philly Cricket
HT (3-0)
Paul Bredickas (a) Matt Hennessey
Jeritt Thayer (a) Barry Smith
Richie Graham (a) Jeritt Thayer
Barry Smith (a) Unassisted
Gary Hayes (a) Matt Hennessey
Chuck Norris (PEN) (a) Barry Smith
Brent Peters (a) Matt Hennessey

MCC had an impressive win against a good Philly Cricket team that unfortunately had to play with just ten men for the majority of the match. Seven different scorers scored today including long time team player Chuck Norris. Other scorers included Paul, Jeritt, Richie, Barry, Gary and Brent. Matt had a hat trick of assists and Barry not only had a goal but also a brace of assists. The other assist came from Jeritt. We hope to keep up this momentum into the next match which is against Allgero at home next Sunday.

Germantown Friends 0-1 MCC
HT (0-1)
Brent Peters (a) Unassisted

An excellent result today against a very good Germantown Friends team. It was a long hard fought game with Brent soring the only goal with an brilliant piece of skill. The  whole team played as a unit with special praise going to Dario who was excellent again in the nets. The next game will be our home opener against Philly Cricket on Sunday.

Allegro 3-0 MCC
HT (1-0)

A lot of positives can be taken out of the MCC defeat today. We had our chances and the team is beginning to gel. Dario was superb in goal and we managed to hold our own with the last two goals coming late on the second half. We have another big match next week on the road to Moorestown and then a BYE week.

Philly Cricket 6-7 MCC
HT (2-5)

Brent Peters (a) Unassisted
Brent Peters (a) Jack Miler
Barry Smith (a) Jack Miller
Matt Hennessey (a) Barry Smith
Matt Hennessey (a) Gary Hayes
Edi Schwartz (a) Brent Peters
Matt Hennessey (a) Edi Schwartz

An excellent start to the season and a great result against a rejuvenated and very good Philly Cricket side. MCC took a commanding 5-2 lead in the first half but Philly Cricket fought back and made it a very tight game which they almost leveled in the dying minutes if it wasn't for brilliant goal keeping by Schuyler our second half stand in goalie. Matt goat his first hat trick of the season and Brent landed himself brace. Barry and Edi finished off the scoring summary and Jack Miller played an outstanding game and provided two valuable assists. Other assists went to Barry, Brent, Edi and Gary. A tremendous performance by everyone and now we look forward to our next match this Sunday against Allegro at Radnor High School.
