"Proud History, Bright Future"

2011 Season

2011 Season Review:

Once again we want to express our sincere thanks to all the players and alumni that have supported us this year. Even though the results don’t show it this year we played some excellent football and the biggest success was the addition of all the new quality players we have gained this year. If we continue this momentum into 2012 we have a great opportunity to regain the championship next season.

A special thanks to Andrew Addis, Wes Spahr and especially Jules Sur for all their help and dedication and especially to Jules who did an excellent job managing the team’s tactics and subbing this year.

This year we finished with a record of 4-5-1 (13pts) GD -6 and last year we closed out the season at 5-3-1 (16pts) GD +6. The runaway winner of the golden boot was Matt Hennessey with a record 70points (11 goals and 5 assists) and Ged Quinn came in second with 31 points (5 goals and 2 assists) – congratulations to them both.

Here's to bringing the championship back in 2012.

The next event is the “MCC Annual Awards Gathering/Pub Crawl” and we will be sending an email out in the New Year with dates for the event.

Have a great holiday season and A Happy New Year!

MCC lost a tough one today against a very good Moorestown side. Moorestown started very well and MCC was unable to recover. MCC had its chances throughout the game but it wasn't their day. We look forward to bouncing back next Sunday when we play Haverford/Penn Charter at home.

Ged Quinn also had two assists and the other assists were credited to Charlie, Chuck, Ronnie and Matt. Next game is at MCC vs Moorestown

MCC 1-3 Philly Cricket
HT (0-2)
Allan Greaves (a) Gary Hayes

Both MCC and Philly Cricket played a very competitive and extremely well played game today with MCC just coming up short in the goal department. Alan Greaves had a superb finish for the goal and a big thank you goes out to Tim Mumford who played the entire game while under the weather. The team is beginning to come together and even though the results haven't gone our way we are building a solid foundation for the years to come. Also a shout goes out to Julian Sur who did another excellent job managing the team and had some well timed tackles when he came on. Next game is at home vs Germantown Friends on Sunday Oct 30th.

MCC 4-2 Allegro
HT (2-0)
Alex Fairman (a) Matt Hennessey
Matt Hennessey (a) Adam Murray
Ged Quinn (a) Matt Hennessey
Ged Quinn (a) Matt Hennessey

An excellent performance by the MCC lads today that was only equaled by the superbly taken goals. Ged Quinn had a brace and Matt Hennessey and ADam Murray got the other two goals. Matt also had three assists and Alex finished with the final assist. MCC worked the ball around very well today and each goal we taken with precision especially Ged's last goal which was slotted away nicely after a fluid five pass movement. A shout also goes out to the well organized defense and Charlie Sales was tremendous in goal as usual. Next game is another home fixture against Philly Cricket.

Haverford/Penn Charter 9-4 MCC
HT (3-2)
Matt Hennessey (a) Brandon Matthews
Matt Hennessey (a) Unassisted
Matt Hennessey (a) Charlie Sales
Rob D'Angelo (a) Unassisted

MCC had another tough loss and unfortunately for the second week in a row we could not field a full team. Considering that challenge the lads played very well and Matt scored his second hat trick in two weeks and Rob D'Angelo got the fourth. Brandon Matthews and Charlie Sales were credited with assists. We look to get back to winning ways next week as we have our first home game of the season at 10:00am vs Allegro.

Moorestown 6-5 MCC
HT (2-2)
Brandon Matthews (a)Barry Smith
Matt Hennessey (a) Barry Smith
Matt Hennessey (a) Unassisted
Rob D'Angelo (a) Matt Hennessey
Matt Hennessey (a) Unassisted

MCC had a tough one today and played extremely well considering we could not field a full team. Matt Hennessey notched a hat trick and an assist and Brandon and Rob got the remaining goals. Barry Smith also came on strong with two assists. A big thank you to all the lads who came out today and here's to next week and getting back to winning ways. Also a thank you goes out to Moorestown for their sportsmanship and fairness in fielding the same number of players on the pitch to make the game competitive. Next game (a) Haverford/Penn Charter.

Philly Cricket 0-1 MCC
HT (0-1)
Stephen Macurdy (unassisted)

MCC notched up their first win of the season over a very strong Philly Cricket team. A single goal by Stephen Macurdy in the first half was enough to seal the win (rumored to have been assisted by Julian Sur - but no verification on that yet). A special mention to Paul Bredickas who played an excellent game in goal. Next game (a) Germantown Friends.

Allegro 3-2 MCC
HT (1-0)
Ged Quinn (a) Kirk Johnson
Ged Quinn (Unassisted)

MCC lost a close one in their opening game vs Allgero. Two Goals by Ged Quinn and an assist by Kirk Johnson wasn't enough for a victory today but MCC played some great football and this bodes well for the season. With a good blend of experience and new blood MCC should be a force to be reckoned with this year. Next game (a) Moorestown, Sept 18 @ 12:00pm
